The book includes an icon-based pattern language, sometimes nicknamed “GregorGrams” after one of the authors.
Unexpectedly good reading but I found it only from the second try: Do you want to learn techniques for processing messages concurrently? There is a definite “book about patterns” pattern – introduce the concepts, a long section referencing things which haven’t been defined pattterns, then a list all the patterns.

Vregor is a long book but surprisingly easy to read, and engaging enough to read cover-to-cover. The topics covered are good, but the book should really have been a third of the size.
Thanks for telling us about the problem. During these sessions, we realized that a big gap in my work was asynchronous messaging systems.

Developer Testing Alexander Tarlinder. It’s slightly out of date, so it mentions evolving asynchronous web services, but doesn’t really cover them. Shared Database entegprise Martin Fowler.
I’ll read this book with a different mindset about integration: Feb 12, Eduardo Seabra rated it it pafterns ok. The second longest book in the entire series, and it’s just about messaging.
