However, it’s still hard to find and you’ll more than likely need to find it used. Sure, I got that vvampire was an older man who was saddled with being first child, sent off to war, no time for luxury and or relaxation. I don’t know if the modern kids would like it though, since the Vampires don’t sparkle.
This is the best Vampire book I have ever read. Submit a new text post. Pretty one-dimensional, but they were decent and loyal to Strahd. Nostalgia kicked in and I had to finally read it.

I think for the purposes of our game, our DM is considering it cannon, excluding the prologue and epilogue. I love love love Strahd and Borovia. Also, I’m not going to comment much memois the newer version, except for this little thought: As a y Excellent! Though this novel lacks the baroque sensuality of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire or the streetwise humor of the author’s own The Vampire Filesit is an exciting and original vampire tale.

I have to say, I had really low expectations going into this book but I was pleasantly surprised. Strahd’s personality changes surprisingly little, remaining mostly in the realm of Grumpy Old Man with overlays of Emo Teen, occasionally punctuated with vampiric animal kinship oddly reminiscent of Disney.
Everything clicked with this instalment – the narrative, the characterisations, the pacing, everything. They are re-releasing the Ravenloft books?
I was just pleasantly surprised by how deep of a character he is. The plot covers Strahd’s background, his choice to become a vampire, and his path from that choice to his weird existence surrounded by zombies in a trashed castle.

I can’t tell if it is because there simply isn’t a history written about him or if the author was told not to go into detail about that because it was technically not her character to do so. It should be safe to listen to and strahr spoil anything.

Gideon Kibblewhite reviewed I, Strahd: The warlord Stradh ends up falling in love with his younger brother’s chosen woman. Hearing the good news, Strahd’s younger brother, Sergei, comes to live with Strahd. I would never have possibly guessed that the word how could be asking someone to explain themselves! Memoors is the protagonist in this one, and it is a winner.
I liked who Strahd was for the first half of the book, and ended up being disappointed to see his character change like that. As Sergei and Tatyana’s wedding srrahd looms closer and closer, Strahd becomes even more desperate. He said we could listen to it without worrying about spoilers in the oc campaign, and that it could potentially give us some subtle helpful hints. When he arrives at his newly acquired castle his younger brother is there to greet him along with some of the locals.
This is where strah the trouble begins. Dragonlance Forgotten Realms Greyhawk Ravenloft. An enjoyable read with Strahd coming off as a far darker and more ruthless monster than Bram Stoker’s original.
This was an excellent read. Extremely derivative, but that would be expected by anyone familiar with the Ravenloft series or strxhd. The official title is I, Strahd. There is no depth, no background, no ‘history’. In fact, the stellar reviews and glowing recommendations from those fellow Goodreaders are what encouraged me to start reading Ravenloft.
The rest of the novel is basically Van Richten reading the journal. The mood and the world are awesome.
